I hope I'm not getting the song and the artist mixed up. Let's see if anyone can help me because I can't get this song out of my head!
The lyric which goes over and over in my head is "it only lasts for a moment". The male singer has a high, almost falsetto voice. He's the singer for a band that went on to be known as this singer AND whatever the bands name is. I can picture the guy....slightly receeding hairline, wiry hair, caucasian sitting behind a piano.
This is driving me crazy so any help will be appreciated.

Yes, the band is Five for Fighting! Thank you. Now I can look up the lead singers name and the name of the song. And finally get it out of my head!
