If there weren't more serious issues to be concerned about then all forms of 'oppression' would be addressed.
If you try smoking it less then perhaps you would feel less oppressed - sounds to like it's bringing you down. Or maybe you're just attempting to be provocative?
The government would do well to legalize marijuana, earn the tax and take the distribution out of criminal hands. I suspect that the tobacco companies who already sell a very addictive and similarly harmful product probably don't want the competition.
Personally I'd avoid consuming any potentially harmful product but I do support other people's right to make their own decisions

It's not harmless. It's more harful than tobacco and it's a mind altering substance. Look, I used to smoke a lot of bud and until you step out of the cloud of smoke you're living in you won't realize just how negative a lifestyle burning everyday truly is.
I know where you are coming from but I also know after growing out of that phase of my life that every time I decided to smoke, whether it was a bowl, bong hit, joint, or one-hitter, it was a bad decision. You will learn that too one day. I used to be with you on this issue and would stand along side of you, now after knowing what I know, I will stand on the opposite side of the fence and march against you.

no way am i making a fool of myself by marching to washington to support marijuana. Do you know that it would be fallacious to conclude that because the chemicals in marijuana have been found to present fewer dangers than some very harmful substances, the medical or recreational use of marijuana is perfectly safe. In a recreational context, marijuana has been shown to affect health, brain function, and memory. And in a medical context, marijuana is like any other powerful prescription drug: it has potentially dangerous side effects.
So research before you post SHI.T here mate

Dude, hate to be the one to break this to you, but it's guys like you who perpetuate the myth that people supporting reform of cannabis laws = whacked out potheads who just want to get stoned.
There are many reasons to reform the laws. Your desire to smoke dope ranks *way* down on the list.
I suggest you stop calling for a smoke out on Washington and support organizations like NORML who are more likely to gain results by working within the system.

I agree, it is much less harmful. It should be treated like any other legal controlled substance, with age limits. I've never heard of anyone smoking a joint, then getting behind the wheel of a car and killing someone. Also, there are no empty bottles or packages to worry about recycling!

Pot being illegal is ridiculous. It's less harmful than alcohol and cigs. It's been categorized by our government in the same section as crack and heroine. Which is insane. And yet Opium is in a "lesser" category. Rent the movie "Weed" with Woody Harelson. It really opens your eyes. But, uhhh, no I'm not marching on Washington with a bong in my hand. I would, however, sign a petiiton.

seriously "stoner", you need to get a life. why is this so important to you? maybe you should take all that motivation that you use on bitching about this and use it on something productive that won't make you more stupid than you already are.
