Probably not infected, just sore. The torso is the most sensitive part of the body. If it is red, inflamed and throbbing, with or without pus,get it checked.

I would wait a little longer to change it. (I don't know maybe another 3 weeks)You probably just bumped it or got it caught on something while you were sleeping. It is still healing so you probably just irritated it. The bump in the middle will never go away it's just extra skin, it will go down but it won't go away. Don't worry nobody can see it anyway! I don't know anyone who has gotten there belly button pierced that it didn't get infected at first. Good luck! Hope i was some help to ya ; )

It is probably just sore, however you should not be touching it at all except when cleaning it !!!
NO TOUCH the new piercing!
anyway, you should also not change the jewelry for at least 6 months, if you must change it before then have your piercer change it to an appropriate metal or PTFE that has been properly sterilized.
And I agree with Scarlet bat go have your piercer look at it because of the bump wich could be scar tissue, could be an infection, or could be an allergic reaction to the jewelry.

well...i had mine infected once. it hurt a lot. when mine was infected it got really hard in the middle..u know the skin between the two holes. it got hard and painful. when i touched it it felt as if there was something there. i had a feeling it was infected cuz when i would change my rings there was this orange/red kinda crust on the ring. i heard applying neosporin helps and cleaning out the piercing with rubbing alcohol. but honestly one day i just took the piercing out and squeezed the hard spot really hard and the pus inside came out. after that the piercing was fine and i haven't got an infection since.

I got mine done on July 29th The instructions were to clean it twice a day, morning and night is best....you cant change the ring for two months. You must wait the full two months.
If its red and keeps hurting and the bump doesnt go away soon, go to the one that pierced you first, that was also in the instructions. They know more what to do than doctors, but they may send you to a doc. It depends on what it looks like.

i wouldn't take the ring out or change it. leave it in longer. hate to say it, but the bump might be a pimple or something like that. if the skin gets clogged, that happens sometimes. also, it may be a build up of calcium or something under the skin. I'd wait a while, don't fiddle with it, but keep it clean. the more you touch/play with it, the more risk of infection.

From what I read, it sounds like its getting infected. You don't have a full on infection, yet. No, you cannot change the piercing, remove it, touch it a lot until after a year [at least]. Contact your piercer and they will give you more detailed information.

I can only speak for me, I didn't change the ring for about three months. Infection usually comes with a discharge and redness of the area. I used to hit mine of the top of my jeans a lot and it took longer to heal. Keep it clean.

it doesn't sound like its infected. it could be a period bump in the area. they can be very irritating. just be careful and watch for any signs of drainage. do not remove the ring. just continue to keep it clean and try not to let any buttons or anything come in contact with it.

nobody is going to be able to help this one, go to a piercer and have them take a look, the bump is a tad worrisome and could be a pocket of infection that just hasnt spread yet but you'd have to have a professional see it in person.
