It's a very small hole and I don't want to go through the trouble of cutting and replacing that section of carpet.

This happened to me. What I did was find a section of carpet from underneath some furniture..just a splice mind you..a tiny bit. Then I took super glue and plugged the burn hole. Worked great!

If you have a closet that is carpeted in the same carpet, cut a small corner out of the back part of the closet, where no one will ever notice it. Then use that piece to patch teh burned spot, being careful to match up the colors. First cut the burned part out with a utility knife and use the cut piece as a stencil on the replacement piece. Then glue the replacement piece down and use your hand to blend the pieces together and reduce the chance of someone noticing it laying differently than the surrounding carpet.

Carpet layers have a tool like a cookie cutter for just such repairs. If the mark is very small, you might try gluing some fibers from your carpet taken from an area that doesn't show.

Try cutting similar color specks from various areas. Tiny trims of the fibers in many places won't be vary noticable. Then using a clear glue patch the burn spot with the shavings.

If it's a small burn hole (like the size a cigarette burn would make), just clip off the burned part, then clip some good fibers from a hidden area like a closet and superglue them onto burn hole area.
