Bush is still trying to convince himself that Hussein had ties to Iraq. I think he has always known there was no connection, but used this excuse to invade Iraq to get the job done that his father started. Now he sees in his dreams the reality that this war has been mishandled, the American people have been mislead, and our troops are suffering because of his agenda. Remember G. W. is and always will be an oil man FIRST!

Al Qaida operatives have been moving over the border into western Iraq and the USA has been unable to stop them or control the area. much of the heaviest fighting has been west and northwest of Baghad. there is some talk among the military to split Iraq and leave that section out. A new home for Bin Laden and Al Qaida??????

G.W. Bush did something clever when Iraq started up. He took the momentum behind 9/11 and shifted it to Iraq. In his first state of the union address on Iraq he claimed that terror was there.

There is no doubt that Saddam was a terrible person, and he did terrorist Kurds and others, but the biological weapons he received were from the US decades before. The were given to Iraq.

Much of this is trying to put pieces of a puzzle together. Misinformation/false information is everywhere, and it becomes difficult to pick out the truth from speculation.

There was no connection when the war started; however, the anarachic state in Iraq, post-invasion, allowed a number of terrorist groups to move in so that now it is legitimate to say "there are Al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq", though their presence there was not significant before the war.

He doesn't ties it into the events of 9/11 (unless he has put his silver foot in his mouth again, and I have not heard it), but he does tie it into the overall war on terror ... which is still a stretch in my opinion.

The current argument states the the terrorists like bin Laden and Zawahiri (sp?) have said that the US occupation of Iraq is a front of the terrorism "war". So Bush says, since THEY think it is part of the War on Terror, it must be.

I don't buy the premise of your question as fact. He never tied Iraq to 9/11, he tied it to al-Qa'ida.

But there's no al-qa'ida in Iraq, is there?

"Terrorists? What terrorists?"

Cause he's our President and he knows more about military things so we'd better listen to what he's telling us. Terrorists started 9/11 and terrorists are in Iraq.

All terrorism is connected. As far as why does Bush do what he does? One can only speculate. Just make sure you are registered to vote against him!
