I personally think Guild Wars. Once you pay the initial cost its free. Plus you can rebuild your attribute points, change secondary professions, ect. In most other RPG's your changes are permanent and you will end up making many characters to get the "build" you like.

i absolutely loved adventure quest. its not hard to learn at all...but as you level up some of the quests and battles are very challenging, which helps keep your interest. in addition, its free, and if you decide u like it, u pay a small price to upgrade and get a few neat extras. now, the graphics are cartoony, but i thought that was cute.
