I live in South Africa. A new series of survivor has like just started here. Is it affiliated to like the real mark burnett survviour or are we ripping it off? also it's a good show but has nothing on the american one...why is this so. and does anywhere else in the world have it's own survivour?

Hey...im from South Africa aswell (living in london though)

I havent heard anything about the south african version yet...but i would say it should be quite interesting!

It was only a matter of time before someone somewhere introduced the idea to SA soil (look at BIG BROTHER,FEAR FACTOR,IDOLS,THE APPRENTICE...etc)

We seem to get most of our reality shows from Other shows...

It will be interesting to see what kinda spin-off will be next!

If one country has a good show other countries try to copy it. Shows that do well make money, and shows that do well sell t-shirts and all sorts of other stuff. So, it is all about money. I'm sure your country isn't "ripping it off" they probably have to get permision from the creators of survivor to do their own version of the show. Why is the American version better? I have no idea. Maybe the american version has more money to spend on production, editing and all of that stuff.
