Great Question!
The philosopher Jean Paul Satre once said...."The greatest gift a father can give his son is to die an early age". What he meant is that when a father does not make available his opinions and hangups of the world then the child grows developing his own views and opinions free from prejudice and experiences that are not his fathers. Liberal dads (like my father) knows the value of stepping back and letting the child develop into the world and to experience it in his own way......not the predetermined way a conservative dad would.

Choice is the main reason . I will not impose my believes on another person but rather suggest the many options available to people seeking religion , political affiliation ,and career choices available ..What the decisions involve and what is expected of you once you have selected a path to pursue supported by the love and acceptance of those decisions.
If interested i will also impart years of experience that i have been part of and observed .
With each decision comes certain obligations if you are to be successfully at them .
Religion requires strict adherance to the rules and if you choose one that is very rigid you must accept this or become a hypocrit .
Politics often requires you to make similar choices as your religious believes tend to tie directly to which of the two main parties you may belong to.
Liberals tend to be more spiritual and believe in a creator . While conservatives tend to follow a strict moral religion with a percentage of income being given to the church in order to maintain ones standing in the community.Churches provide the political spring board for many politicians and the grass roots support needed .

Simple, Liberal Fathers think of their family and neocons only think of money and themselves along with hookers and dope.( GOP) now! My Father was a liberal and never missed a day of work, worked his vacation time to make double pay for Mom and came home everynight. He supported us and gave up all kinds of things until we were raised and then he also taught us how to be honest and decent to others and to stay away from men that didn't work and only wanted to have a woman support them ! He was right too because I know 2 Republican men that voted for Bush and run their mouth and order the wife around like a slave after she comes home from work with good health insurance for him . They also call their sons pussys and sissys if they want to wear certain clothes or play in the band. I can't ever imagine in all the times I fought with my parents ever having them call me a bad name.

Reality based child rearing works much better than raising kids with some fantasy of how they world "should be".

In my case I learned the stages of human developement so that I could meet my kids at their level of emotional capacity, not trying to force them to behave as adults. In this way I was able to give them respect and not burden them with lessons that they could not understand at each stage. They were given the freedom to make their own (age appropriate) decisions, with coaching as to what consequences to expect. I never bullied them just because I was bigger but made sure that they understood what boundries and limits were acceptable before we reached a conflict of interest. My kids are grown now and have become compassionate and loving human beings and still give my wife and I great joy in life.

I guess if a person is a Liberal person, the kid he had would be lucky he wasn't aborted(murdered) and flushed down a toilet. That is if the father was even straight, and not trying to marry another man defying the laws of nature. I am guessing not many REAL fathers are liberal, because after a few REAL life situations come around, almost anybody with common sense becomes a Conservative...unless it is in your best interest to vote a democrat into office to increase the size of your welfare checks!!!

Would a conservative guy be a stay at home dad if he had to? Doubt it. He'd be too scared of his selfish image to support his family this way. On the other hand I've known many liberals who were stay at home dads at some point in their family lives.

It's all about priorities and doing what's right.

Liberals rock!

Neocons reproduce by raiding warthog litters so they don't have good role models as fathers.

Yes. Liberal men are just kinder with bigger hearts. They don't resort to verbal/physical violence when they can't discipline their kids any other way. (As Neocons resort to war when they can't communicate with someone who disagrees with them). They also instill more love in their kid's hearts and a concern for fellow human beings by truly role modeling these behaviors. Rather than just talking about being "moral" and doing something entirely different in front of their children. And Liberal Dads guide their children instead of ruling them.

I find it amazing you would believe everything you read. My father is conservative, and while strict, is still a pretty loving, easy-going guy. He never got drunk and beat me, he never withheld anything from me, contrary he made me work for everything and appreciate value. I'm a conservative, and I don't teach my kids racism, hate, or anything else. While not perfect by any means, I've never abused my children, nor would I allow them to be abused. Your comments are examples of your own ignorant intolerance which you so vehemently vilify the right with. You sir, are a turd...
