Nope. Being a nerd would make you a nerd, not the type of music you choose.

It does not make you a nerd, it makes you someone with good taste in music. When I was a kid, I liked the big band music my grandparents played, showtunes, 50's music, then folk and rock in the 60's & 70's. When I was your age, punk rock and new wave were coming about, and I liked those too- but my mainstays were always classic rock, like Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Rush, Hendrix. Then grunge came along, and Nirvana with their raw nevermind honesty. (Never could stand c&w, though, with a few exceptions) Some of the cr*p that passes for music now is ridiculous, even harmful, but I think there is different music for different times, or different occasions and there is value when it speaks to you or makes you feel a certain way. Music is subjective, like art. It speaks to everyone differently. You're cool.

Not at all....It sounds like you have good taste. A lot of the mainstream music that is currently popular is absolute crap. Listen to what you like and don't care about what anyone else thinks. You're only a nerd if you alter your music tastes so you can fit in with the masses.

No, you've got good taste! Today's music is just a vast wasteland. Classic rock was a great fusion of different influences and is one of the only eras of music that still sounds fresh today. Be sure to check out Cream, Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix in your studies, Grasshoppah

No. Most classic rock is better than most new music. It makes you more interesting than people who merely listen to whatever is on the radio.

Listen to whatever you want to listen to. Pink Floyd were and still are awesome, it's hardly embarrassing liking them. I personally don't like rap, but I can understand why people listen to it. Music is there to be enjoyed.

I like bands like Pink Floyd, but they are 80's.

But then again I am old!

Def Leopard, AC/DC, Boston, Kansas, the Scorpions.

Peace!
