I always questioned my parents thoughts, feelings, and motives in making decisions about the things I could do, places I could go, and friends I could associate with on a daily basis. Now that I have a child of my own, I have come to understand my parents' reasoning. It simply is out of love and my experiences in life that I now feel responsible for controlling the same things in my daughter's life that my parents controlled in mine. Doing so, I hope to shape her life and build character and morals as my parents did for me.
On a humorous note, I never understood the need for coffee at the crack of dawn. Now that I am a parent, I couldn't function without my coffee the minute my feet hit the floor in the morning!!
