Don't worry i was like that ...you'll get better!!! I used a guitar book that my friend let me borrow it had songs for different artists. You should get a guitar book for dummies. Now don't get me the wrong way i'm not calling you a dummy but i used it and i picked it up pretty fast it was really easy to learn because of the way it explained the whole concept.

Instead of learning Guitar, try learning Bass Guitar first. It's sooo much easier. I taught my daughter to play Bass in a couple weeks. Now we Jam together. Punk Rock songs, for example, are only 3 chords. So Bass would be only 3 notes, over and over again. You can do it!!!!Good Luck!

The important thing to ask yourself is...do you enjoy it? That's half the battle right there...music, I think, should come from the heart....something you enjoy. If you're enjoying it...stick with it, practise, get back to basics for motivation (why did you start learning to play, etc?). It's natural for there to be some frustration while learning to play and getting things wrong...but if you genuinely enjoy yourself learning, then you'll stick with it and improve :)

The best thing you can do is practice. Sooner or later its gonna all click and make sense so just give it time. Not everyone learns at the same rate.

books don't help soul. play from your heart and soul. knowing chords or notes won't give you soul. play it the way you feel it. maybe guitar ain't in your soul, or your trying to hard. relax before you play.
