I need to know. As a pro American I am horrified how Americans have let this man ruin the reputation of the worlds only super power. After 9/11 the entire world supported America and yet today it stands isolated. Bush has tried to merge religion and politics in America and has destroed the reputation of Tony Blair. Do Americans realise this or even care?

love_2b_curious - I do not feel it is a healthy democracy if you feel the need to be silent. Its an important part of a free country to openly critisise your leader. That doesnt happen in America enough! Bush wouldnt last two minutes if he was answerable to the press and scrutinised in a "question time" session with opposition leaders (like in a parliamentary system) Whats the point of a democracy if all you do is elect a dictator for 8 years?... Also it is a very bad thing that Bush has convinced the bible belt that you have to vote Republican to be a decent Christian. Tying politics and religion is for the middle east not the western world.... I love the western world and all our shopping malls and consumerism but one thing that baffles me is why America is so "Christian" when its whole philosophy is glutony and greed. Its not built on Christian values at all.... Would Jesus have bombed Iraq?

We care and we are ashamed. Many of us think that election fraud played a big part of his holding office. But sad to say, nearly half of the people took a chance and voted for somebody they'd like to have a beer with -- or go to church with. Even sadder are the number of blind people who refuse to accept the truth that we have been lied to and misled into a war that has consequences nearly opposite to the hoped for effect.

Imagine.......

A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter
scale hits Mexico.

Two million Mexicans have died and over a million are
injured.

The country is totally ruined and the government doesn't
know where to start with asking for help to rebuild.

The rest of the world is in shock.

Canada is sending troopers to help the Mexican army control
the riots.

Saudi Arabia is sending oil.

Other Latin American countries are sending supplies.

The European community (except France) is sending food and
money.

The United States, not be outdone, is sending two million
replacement Mexicans.

God Bless America.

I do not hate Bush, I just disagree with his policies and politics. What happens in a couple of years time is up to the American people. Why should Americans give a damn if people around the world hate them? Much of the hated stems from envy and crass ignorance of America, the people of America and the great achievements of America.

The Iraq war has brought about an extreme spike in oil costs, and the extreme devaluation of the U. S. dollar, the two certainly one of that have impacted the U. S. monetary device noticeably heavily. Terrorism has skyrocketed worldwide considering our invasion, which i think in general impacts those human beings who would choose to return and forth out of the country and now sense risky doing so. The war additionally keeps American militia families aside, and in worry of the chaplain's knock on the door. people who make it back in one piece go through extreme emotional trauma, and the opportunity of being despatched back repeatedly. it is not sturdy.

I didn't vote for him, don't agree with most of his policies and think he's the worst President in the last century at least. This has NOTHING to do with him being a Republican. I wouldn't think any differently if he were Democrat, Libertarian or whatever party.

Sorry, but we Republicans are a silent majority in this country! By silent, I mean that we don't have to publicly lambaste the other side and stoop to their level. Democrats are loud-mouthed hate mongers that will tear this great nation to pieces!
We all used to be "ONE" nation under God!
Now look at us! Republicans are "accused" now of being associated with the Christian right, (as if that's a bad thing)!
What's wrong with you people?

Not yet, but thankfully we are getting there. Even wife-beater Republicans are starting to bail out on Bush and the Bush junta.
