Bad sector means that there's a problem with your hard drive. Computer will try to avoid using that area of the disk. No way to fix unless you get a new hard drive.
Back up you important data files, pic's, etc.

You can't. Bad sectors have been physically damaged. If there are too many of them, and this is your hard drive, you will need to replace the drive. Soon, before more sectors are damaged and you lose critical data.

Almost every hard drive has a couple of bad sectors which are marked as unusable and can't be written to and even if they could you wouldn't want to write to them. Watch your hard drive bad sector count and if it increases it is time to get a new hard drive. It goes without saying backup regularly.

backup your data, and replace if you can. if not use your scandisk utility (comes with windows) select the fix automatically option. tha will mark the bad sectors of your hard drive and wont actually use them for storing your files.
hope i've been helpfull.

At the command prompt, First run DOS program 'chkdsk /f' then run 'scandisk /autofix /nosave /surface'. If this does not fix it, purchase 'Disk Manger' or goto the drives Mfg website for available utilities.
