If I were in a position where i couldn't have kids and the only chance I had was to adopt, then I wouldn't care about it's origins. All I would see would be a beautiul baby that is mine and I would be raising it. Race would not be an issue because when it comes down to it, most families that do adopt are desperate for that child and wouldn't care two ways from sunday if he were black or bi-racial. I would feel damn lucky that the oppertunity came to me to adopt this precious life and give it a good home and a stable family.

I think it's not so much about black and white....it's more about availability. The facts are there are children all over the world with all kinds of nationalities that need adoption.. the typical white child is considerably harder to come by and the wait is longer. Most people choose to take a child ( no matter what the race) out of a bad situation or a third world country and give them a real chance in life.....

I think it depends on the couple that is adopting. If they are totally open to it, I don't think there is a problem at all. However, I also know that some couples who have had trouble conceiving their own child wants to adopt one that could look like thier own child. White baby for white couple, etc. Not trying to sound mean or anything, but I myselft wouldn't want to adopt out of my race simply because of the tolerance the parents would have and the child would have to have later on. Kids in school wondering why you don't look like your parents, etc. Alot more explanations would have to come about just because of the society we live in. No offense please that's just how I percieve it.

For some having to have a child of the same exact race is all too important. However I think that for a person that truely wants the blessing of a child through adoption does not care what race the child is. Or at least they shouldn't. Love should not see race or color especially when it comes to a child

Yes white couples do adopt interracial babies. My aunt did about 10 years ago. He's part of the family, no one is shallow enough to be bothered by it.

I think it varies from couple to couple. There are couples out there I am sure that just want a child, no matter the race. And I am sure there are couples out there that want a child to look as close to them as possible.

why not race shouldn't matter. alot of my friends are white and have black or hispanic boyfriends/ husband. a child is a beautiful gift and it shouldn't matter what race they are.
