Acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situations- some fact of life- UNACCEPTABLE TO ME, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thng or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. unless i accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changes in the world as on what need to be changed in me and in my attitudes..

I am the same way. I am very shy and find it very hard defending myself. One thing I have learned is that if you don't open your mouth, you will never be heard or get what you want. People will constantly take advantage of you and step all over you.
Also keeping things bottled up inside isn't healthy.
There are some limitations.
If it's going to hurt the person's feelings, there are ways to express yourself without doing so.
I get more respect when I express how I feel. hope this helps.

I'm the same way. I am the scapegoat in my family, so if I complain or state even an obvious fact that they don't like I get my *** chewed. Sometimes, for comforts sake, its easier to not say anything at all. Now if someone is mistreating you or just plain being an ***, STEP UP, take control, or those people that you don't have the guts to say things to will end up controling you.

Dont panic! You just need a confidence boost. The best way to get a boost is to hang with people you know and get used to talking to them and in time you will build up the confidence to talk to anyone about anything. Confidence doesnt come over night so give it time and keep perserveering!

So does everyone, we all wish we could be out spoken and tell people exactly what we think but seem to loose courage and cover up. All I can say is be true to yourself!

I get that a lot too. Practise what you're going to say to them - or at least how you're going to start - tell yourself that you ARE going to do it NOW, or AS SOON AS they walk into the same room as you or whatever. It works for me!
