my laptops connection to internet is not secure?

ive just connected my laptop wireless with belkin 802.11g 54mbps but it appears that this connection is not sucure and not encrypted..what do i do?

are you connecting to your own network or someone elses. if its your network you need to go into the properties of your router and make wep or wpa key. if its not your network be happy its not secure or you wouldnt be on here asking this question. good luck

U set up the wireless acces point (wireless router or what ever) to use an encryption, look at the user manual for how to do this. or the manufacturers web site.
