Ask the person overseeing the detention if you can read a book instead. Unless you have a sever learning disability writing the same words multiple times will do little to help your education.

Tell them that by reading a book, it can help your education, infinetly more than this pointless practice. After all, you go to school to learn, not waste time.

As a past teacher, I would find it impossible to refute this argument if a student ever brought this point up to me.

When on paper, you can do both at the same time.

Hold 2 (or more if you can) pens 1 above another and making sure both pens are touching the paper, write out the sentence. If done correctly it should cut down the lines by half.

One word at a time is quicker, but it is better to behave yourself than to go to detention.

It is easier to write lines in one word than writing it in sentences because then u feel that u have done a blunder in class or anywhere else when u see yourself writing each word many times. It makes u realize your mistakes.

It's much quicker if you don't do what ever it was to get into detention in the first place.

In the long run it's quicker if you stop looking for cheats, which is probably what landed you there in the first place.
