basically it means the person isnt producing enough cortisol, which is a hormone. cortisol controls a ton of stuff so there are a lot of symtpoms. it can be life threatening if its severe enough and not treated, but it is relatively easy to treat, the person just needs to take a corticosteroid which replaces the missing hormone, and the person lives a relatively normal life.
