I do, only because people are divided enough as it is.

I think most of you missed the point. It has nothing to do with being PC or good television. Why take steps backward and segregate people according to race, no matter what the reason is? And as far as past seasons, those demarcations are irrelevant b/c they don't carry the history that this does...

Yes, since we are supposed to look past the color of ones skin. People are people. Dividing them for competition based on the color of ones skin for ratings is repulsive and racist.

Any time you segregate races problems will arise. Racial slurs and tensions are bound to heighten, which could very well be what they're going for, but in today's society - is that really a good thing?
The whole reality show concept has begun to lose popularity - and this could be his last ditch effort to keep Survivor going.

It's a TV show. Why is everyone so upset? If you want to watch, great! If not turn the channel. No one biotched about young women vs old women & old men vs young men last year!
Are they not different? Did the younger people have an advantage? Were the older people more intelligent?

It can be, if it stays along the race/ethnic lines and it becomes a battle of the races, but with Burnett and Probst, you don't know what the twists and turns are.It starts out as a battle of the races and may turn at any time to something totally different.

I heard on an interview from The View by Jeff Probst is that it is for only a couple of shows and then they change it up.

I sort of like it...You get to see people in there own cultures and how diverse they handle the same situations

It will be very popular. The viewers will watch to root for THEIR team.

There is way too much political correctness in the world. There is no discrimination in this, it is just grouping by ethnic back ground.
You have to devide into teams somehow.

The competition should be better.

Personally, I won't watch it because I have always found the show boring (more like a soap opera)

Yeah, I agree with you. I think that race is sorta taboo. I can see it now, there are going to be a lot of people offended and many, many articles written by those who are offended. I definitely think there should be some other factor that divides the tribes, not race.

Nah. It's probably all a publicity stunt to get people to watch. You know the tribes are going to merge later on in the season anyway. They want the big ratings probably starting off.

If the intent is to get folks to talk about it, then it'll work in the short term. Long term, it won't have any effect on race relations.
