I know from my reproductive class that 14 days after the first day of your period your ovialating, but is that the only day you can get pregnant or can you get pregnant all month long. Is it just that that is your most fertile day or are you fertile the whole month.

There is about a 24 hr. period during the month when a woman can get pregnant. That is how long the egg stays until it starts to shed. Sperm, though, can live inside a woman for about 3 days "waiting" for the egg if conditions are right. So, if you have sex for up to 3 days before ovulation and one day after ovulation there is a good chance of becoming pregnant. Hope that helps.

Not all women ovulate on day 14 of their cycle. Generally women ovulate about 14 days before the end of their cycle. Therefore, if you have a 30 day cycle, you might not ovulate until day 16 of your cycle. Anyway, you need to ovulate in order to conceive. Once you ovulate, you only have a 24 hour window for the sperm to fertilize the egg. If you ovulate too late in your cycle, then there is a chance that the egg won't implant because the uterus doesn't have enough time to thicken enough for the egg to implant. In this case, you would miscarry immediately and you most likely wouldn't have known you were pregnant. Therefore, the most important thing is find out when you are ovulating when ttc. You can have sex a couple days before ovulation and still get pregnant because sperm typically live for 2 days. However, once ovulation occurs - you only have 24 hours to conceive. Hope this info helps.

If you have a regular 28 day cycle - day 14 is your MOST fertile day - but you can be fertile a couple of days either side of this - depending where the egg is in your fallopian tubes. Also, sperm can live upto 5 days inside of you - so even if you have unprotected sex 5 days before you're fertile - there's a chnace those guys may still be swimming around inside!

That said, you may, for whatever reason, be fertile at other times of the month - for whatever reason an egg may be released early or late - unlikely, but certianly not impossible.

Hope that helps

Everyone's cycle is different. It's not exactly 14 days after the first day of your period for everyone. It could be 10-14 days. There could be 2-3 days in a month that you could get pregnant, but no it's not the whole month.
They shouldn't tell you that in class because then teens will think they can have unprotected sex except just on a certain day of the month.

If you have sex you can get pregnant. Here's how it works. (And I suggest if you don't know this about your body, and how you can get pregnant, you should REFRAIN from sex) When you have sex, seamen travels inside you. it only takes one to make a baby but a giant number is released each time.... there is seamen in precum too, it can last in your body up to six says. While generally speaking, you can only "get" pregnant while ovulating, you need to take into consideration the fact that your body changes and even though you think you might not be ovulating, you actually COULD be.... best bet is to use a form of birth control, (and understand, even then there's a .1% chance of getting pregnant, if you can't accept having a child right now, then lay off the SEX until you're older, more mature, and capable of being a providing mom.)

There is only a couple of hours in one day a month you can get pregnant. However sperm can live in your body for up to 7 days so even if you did not do it on the day of ovialation there is a possibility you can get pregnant.

The miraculous thing about humans is we can get pregnant any time during our cycles. If you think you are pregnant then you should wait until the time is near for your next cycle then take a home pregnancy test. Dependant upon how far along you are this could take up to 3 weeks, which can be harrowing for you. that is the day you are most fertile, but you can get pregnant almost the whole month. You need to be ovulating to get pregnant, but your cycle can be off from month to month.

Here is the real question: Did a penis ejaculate inside your vagina? If the answer is YES then you may be pregnant no matter if it was Tuesday or Mardi Gras or the fourth Sunday of the month. If the answer is NO then you have NO chance of pregnancy no matter what day it is. Penises ejaculating in vaginas cause pregnancy, not some rhythm method or counting days or anything else.
