I was just about to ask this same question. We've used tiger balm for headaches and other aches - great stuff. THere's also a patch or plaster - made several different ways, but strong smelling - that works great for back or leg pain. We've also used the po chi pills for tummy troubles - good stuff, quick and effective.

I noticed that there is a TCM school in Toronto - a quick view from the highway. Seems there are many TCM pharmacies in the various Chinatown areas around here too. I'd like to have more information myself, and find out about the effects of various TCM methods on asthma and hyperactivity. Most of the people that I've know familiar with it, are very happy with it - even the older couple who used that cup that bruises your back - they "swear" by it.

Here's the link for that school - don't know them personally, but they have huge amounts of information on their website.

I had a lot of health probs as a young kid including chronic ear and throat infections, and all the doctors did was fill me with antibiotics until my immune system was shot. I started acupuncture when I was about 10. It cleared my ears and sinuses and, along with some traditional herbs (in a supplement called KM that tasted gross but worked) gave my immune systema boost. I also used acupuncture for hip and knee pain when I was a competitive athlete. I swear by it!

Tiger balm.....mmmmm. Excellent stuff, i have back problems and take all kinds of pills to get rid of the pain, in fact im on 12 a day! But about 3 weeks ago, my friend gave me some tiger balm, a little every few hours and WALLA!.. zero pain. I do believe natural remedies are the best.

My wife tried heated cups on her back once and only ended up with 20 big bruises like love bites. That was in a chinese medical centre.
