In early days why they used the date in the documents.
Do the stone age people have date in their writing / paintings?

early men might have found the date system probably to know the seasons and later on it might have become modified and again modified and reach to today's accurate calender .

this might have helped them to store food in the famine period and to migrate to colder places during the hot summers or to migrate to the warmer places during sever winters .

I'm a little confused on what you are asking but the Date systems were formed by the patterns formed by the sun and moon. and originated far before we had written documents to record history
