I'm trying to look for a gay friendly jazz club, lounge in Los Angeles near Hollywood area. Something low-key...not really a bar or a club.

Check out the West Hollywood area, it's mainly made up of gay people. Or check out this site:

LA.COM is a great site to find about everything you want to know about LA.

Here is another good site: http://www.digitalcity.com then click on the city that you're looking for.

Good luck in finding your preferred nightlife place!

Places in/near Hollywood that offer jazz: Frankie's on Melrose, Miceli's, Cat and Fiddle, the lounge at the Roosevelt Hotel. You'll have to check their websites or call to make sure jazz is offered Friday nights. I can't say if they're gay-specific, but they seemed friendly to all kinds of people, including gay folks.

Have you also considered cafes? The Abbey in West Hollywood is gay-friendly and is a really nice, mellow place to hang out. Little Frida's coffeehouse, also in West Hollywood, has a friendly, younger, lesbian vibe to it -- a nice change of pace from the rest of boy's town. Very nice place to hang out as well.

No gay-friendly place in LA. LA is a diverse Christian urban city. Throw your own gay party. Go to San Francisco.
