I asked a very similar question a couple days ago, and these were the answers I got. I haven't tried any of them out yet, but I'm going to test some of these things over the weekend.

Good luck! It's a nasty thing to have to clean!

You might try furniture polish or olive oil, rubbed gently with a soft cloth to dissolve the old grease...oil cuts oil. Once it is loosened, wipe down with a solution of murphy oil soap and hot water. If they seem dried out after that, go back over with furniture polish or dusting spray. Wood is very absorbant so if you dry them slightly in the cleaning process, just keep applying an oil based product to bring them back. It may take a while to "quench its thirst", so don't panic if it doesn't seem to be working, and do give it time to work. Bleach is ok for wood occasionally but I wouldn't count on it as a degreaser, and I wouldn't use any other household degreasers on wood either.

Murphy's oil soap is good you might even try a degreaser of some sort just remember to remove the handles they can soak while you clean the cupboards and it makes the job a lot easier.

I got Cabinet Magic - it does wonders. I used that all over the cabinets and when it came time to move, we got a full refund bc the kitchen looked so great.

I personally don't like Murphy's Oil Soap, bc I think it leaves too much of a film.

Go to your local grocery store and get a bottle of Murphy's Oil. It is in the cleaning chemical section. Follow the directions on the bottle and it works great!!!
