In my opinion, I find that a large (way too large) number of Americans are in denial of the very serious terrorist threat we face. The FACT is that there is a very large number of people in the Arab world that want to destroy America and anything we stand for. These people are not, as many may think, a small portion of the Muslim world community. Most Muslims want to see Americans destroyedand dead. The only way to survive this wave of attacks that is going to get worse by the day is by having an IRON FIST. We CANNOT afford to sit back and apply the soft politics of democracy. I am the first one to say it is sad to have to resort to bending our constitution, but there is no other way. There is no dialouging with these people. They cannot be trusted and they DO NOT want peace by any means.
What the leader of the terrorist group Hesbollah said prety much sums it up..." We will win in the end, because they (America and Israel) love life, and we (most , if not all, the muslim world) love death."
Either we wake up, or we will be violently woken up with an ice cold bucket of water.

Well, just look at the President and his continued justification for his invasion of Iraq. And 30% to 40% of Americans STILL agree with him. So I would venture to say in that instance yes, a large number of people in the U.S. are in denial.

no longer anybody is enjoying a martyr. There are people, such as youngsters and animals who've executed no longer something to deserve this sort of scientific care that they get. there became a tale right here a pair of days in the past a pair of three year previous boy who "went" in his pants and his evil stepfather placed him in scalding warm water to bathe him and burned the exterior remarkable off. Is that what you propose by utilising idiotic. I do agree that people get what they deserve. undesirable law enforcement officers, cheating husbands, and so on. ( i'm a reliable believer in karma.) despite if it is not in straightforward terms THIS society it is this way. the worldwide is like this and it is been for a protracted time. it is noted as HUMAN NATURE. You extra useful get used to it or stay annoyed for something of your life. good luck. you will possibly need it!

Societies throughout history have long been in denial before our current society. Why stop now?

I have no way to know which problem you are refering to. It is however true that society is in denial at times of major problems primarily due to conditioning of our minds and way of thinking which we are used to.

I believe we all in denial on some level.
How else would we support our beliefs systems?
I dont think we can really trust just our own judgements alone.
We need each other to collectively see the truth.
I hope that begins to answer your question.
