Yes. The "needle palm" and the european windmill palm (chaemerops humilis). Both are probably hardy in your area in a protected area. Saw palmetto may also live.

Check out the book "Palms Don't Grow Here". I have these varieties growing in Kentucky.

There is also a really nice variety of banana that you can grow: musa basjoo. Cheaper than the winter hardy palms, and they grow quite fast to about 10 ft tall each year. They die down to the ground in the winter.

Palm trees are not indigenous to Connecticut. If there are any there, they would have had to be imported from the South. And, there are many types of palm trees. The Cabbage Palm grows wild in Florida, while the beautiful swaying trees are imported from other areas. They are not native, even in Florida.
