Don't worry but you should get a lawyer.
If it is a subpoena for paperwork just hand it over. If it is for a deposition, then things get more complicated.
They are probably not going after you. The most important thing is be consistent and TELL THE TRUTH. Lying abut anything, no matter how small, WILL get you in trouble. Chances are, you are fine otherwise. If you were an officer of the company your legal fees should be covered by their D&O insurance.

You don't need to pay for a lawyer. Go to court, since you have to anyway because of the subpoena, tell the truth. It will not look at all odd that you do not have paperwork from an employer, especially since you no longer work there.
You do not need to worry. A subpoena is just an order to appear. If something else happens (and I cannot imagine that it will) you can always refuse to answer until you get legal advice.
Try not to fret too much about this. It would freak me out too. I do not know too much about bankruptcy but I do know about subpoenas and it does not sound as if there is anything for you to worry about.
Good luck to you.

It's probably so that they can determine whether or not the employer is giving up everything or if he's holding back things that would make the bankruptcy questionable.
If you have the paperwork...provide it, you worked there 2 years ago...if you don't have the papers just let them know. You could talk to a lawyer but unless you have something to hide they probably won't be of much use except to take a payment from you for five minutes of their time

I presume that you are being subpoenaed to testify as to what you know or don't know about your former employer's business. If that's the case.........NO, you don't need a lawyer.
Just go to court and answer the questions honestly. If you don't have the paperwork they are requesting, just tell the court you don't have it!

If you did something you shouldn't have, then you need a lawyer. If you think they are going to try to make you a scapegoat, then you need a lawyer.
At the very least, consult a lawyer. Many of them will let you ask a question on whether or not you need representation for free.
