USUALLY JELOUSY, TO LOOK GOOD TO PEERS N TO MAKE THEMSELVES FEEL BETTER I DONT UNDERSTAND IT BUT I THINK THEY ARE VERY INSECURE WITHIN THEMSELVES

obvious answer is competition. but the deeper desire to have a clan or group cohesion in their society peer group makes them shun the selfish ones who don't share / care
