The number of bacteria in a dish has tripled every month. If there were 2500 bacteria at first, how many bacteria were there 10 months later?

is the answer right?147622500...i kept on multiplying the result by3 until i get the 10 months..is there a simpler way for me to get the result?

I don't understand. 2500 times 3 to the exponent 10 is not same answer as 147622500.

Yes it is: just remember that you always calculate exponents before doing multiplication.

2500 * (3^10 = 2500 * 59049 = 147,622,500
