on that catch a pred but really 13 is legal in some countries.....and it really isn't always the guys fault. These 13 yrs olds sometimes dress and act like 17, 18. My friend's daughter told a guy she was 18 and slept with him. I think that people should be better parents. Maybe even take some responisbilty and not have kids. People should be tested before they should be allowed to have kids, myself included.

*****my point, being why is it illegal? It's not in other countries. And when you look at the fact the children in other countries have higher test scores then our own children, what does that tell you?

Okay well here we go! I am a mother of 4 kids-2 girls and 2 boys. My oldest girl is 12 and she thinks and acts like she is going on 18. I remember when I was there too and its hard. That age is such a transition time for girls, more so than boys. Most of them are starting to get breast, if they don't already, getting their periods and leanring how to act older from their role models on TV and movies. I am a VERY, VERY strick mother when it comes to certain things that my kids do. Dress, respect of others, honesty, tolerance of other peoples' situations (social, mental, economical, gender, race) and how well they do in school. I will give my daughter some of the privilages of adults because she has to learn how to do things "in due time". How do we ever learn to trust our children if we don't give a little to them. I'm not with her all the time so I have to trust that she is doing well.
Now, getting to your question, my response to you is what you as a parent teach and demonstrate to your children should be started at birth. If you teach them to respect, understand and learn good behavior then you have done your job as a parent, but you aren't with them all the time. You have to trust that what you have drilled into their brains for years was absorbed and is followed. I don't let my children have a computer in their room and they can't go onto any website that I find offensive. I am a stay-at-home mom and I think that is another reason that children are going towards older men. Looking for the authority figure to help them along. No matter what or how you look at it, they are still children, also too much time, unsupervised time, on their hands and access to the net. Now, now its not all the men's faults. If the children weren't there in the first place, then maybe a lot of this wouldn't be happening. I am not blaming the kids for some sick prevert lured them into something horrible, but if the kids weren't left in a unsupervised situation, then maybe it wouldn't happen as often. I believe that all child molesters are scared, confused little men who can't make it as real men! They don't have any control over people their own age and probably couldn't if they tried, so they bully and abuse the only people who they can-young kids. Now that is just what I think and I hope that I answered your question in some way. Thanks for "listening"...

You are right. They catch a lot of men on that thing all the time. And, do you know what's funny? When the reporter talk to some of the guys, they actually said that, Yes, they also have watched the reports of them doing exactly the same thing they were caughtr doing-and they still do it! What the hell? Some of these same guys also said that they actually thought they were being set up but decided to go in "just in case they were wrong." F-ucking idiots. They deserve to go to jail.
now, the second part on where you say that there are some girls out there who are 13 and looking like 18, that is true, too. I work for a school district and you'd be surprised on little 8 year old girls-yes, 8-talking about wanting to "pop that coochie" and other things like that and talking about breasts and things. Boys do it, but girls are worse (and I should know, being a lady of 29, when I was in school girls was meaner, must more cruel and vindictive and was talking about sex before I got out of elementary school).
There are a lot of young girls who just don't care.
And, yes, I agree with you that there are a lot of people who should be checked out before having kids. in a perfect world, I would love to have the people checked out and take a written test of common sense to see what they would do if they had children. And, like some Home Ec. class where they actually give you a doll to work with a partner, they should have the doll with a key and a chip that shows and records EVERYTHING the "portential parents" are either doing right or wrong.
i personally, I do not want kids. I like them; Hell, I work with them. If I didn't, I would NEVER work with them in the first place.
But, I do not want to have them. So, I do not need to take the test.
(And, if I did, I would probably past the test quicker then those wanting children!)

Some of the men are 20. I don't find it unusual that a 20 yo would find a 15 yo attractive. They're very close in age.
I think Dateline is bloating the seriousness of some of the men caught. I don't consider the 20 yo going for the 15 yo a pedophile. Some of the others, such as 45 yo men looking for 13 yo girls or boys are real pedophiles.
