It could be corpus luteum, which is a cyst on the ovaries that forms after release of the egg. When you get pregnant the cyst still remains on the ovary. When you go for an ultrasound, the tech will measure your ovaries. Ask them which ovary you ovulated from last, they will be able to tell you by the cyst that formed. Me, I ovulated from my right side. I asked if this could cause some pain and/or discomfort and they said yes, sometimes. Especially when you are due around or after your period.

Maybe round ligament pains but that sounds a little early. Call the doc for all you know it could be ectopic which is dangerous.

I would go ahead and get in to see your doctor. I had pains like this and it turned out to be trapped gas, but better be safe. Congratz on the baby! I hope it turns out to be nothing more than normal pains.

If the pain is on your side, it is most likely to be round ligament pain. They are very sharp, happens when have sudden movements (sometimes not so sudden). They ligaments are the muscles holding your uterus. Your uterus is growing, so the muscles have to stretch.

You should see your doctor to rule out any problems. I don't want to scare you but it could be a possible miscarriage...it could also just be your tendons stretching.

Call your Dr. It could be nothing, but it could be serious. If your bleeding, go to the hospital!
