Today women are still suffering unjust treatment almost everywhere on earth. This is not only bad for them but it is bad for the whole world: the bird of humankind cannot soar up to the heaven of happiness with only one wing.
The reason is that for millennia various human societies were governed by muscular strength. Now, we see that society governance needs more of feminine qualities, but mankind are still in lack of a proper education to make reasonable modification in all fields of private as well as collective activities.
In order to improve the condition of our world, it is urgently needed that the education and the practice of gender equality should be strongly encouraged in families as well as in schools throughout the world.
The UN had done something about this, but it is not urgent enough, not strong and not effective enough. Mankind would never have peace if women had to continue this unjust suffering. War against women still occur brutally every day in almost all families, all countries with greater harm than war in Libanon, in Iraq, in Afghanistan...
The official call of the Baha'i world since 1985 had also been ignored:
"The emancipation of women, the achievement of full equality between the sexes, is one of the most important, though less acknowledged prerequisites of peace. The denial of such equality perpetrates an injustice against one half of the world's population and promotes in men harmful attitudes and habits that are carried from the family to the workplace, to political life, and ultimately to international relations. There are no grounds, moral, practical, or biological, upon which such denial can be justified. Only as women are welcomed into full partnership in all fields of human endeavour will the moral and psychological climate be created in which international peace can emerge
(Letters, 1985 Oct, The Promise of World Peace, p. 3)
O, thinking men, o ruling men, until how long shall we continue to preserve this unjustice not only for women but for all of the human race?
