Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy! Luckily, most of mine occured at nighttime, in bed. Tell me how weird it is to actually wake yourself out of a sound sleep with one of those and be embarrassed at yourself! One, you are not alone, and two, I doubt it has any negative effect on your baby. Maybe it actually appreciates the relief!

This is quite normal... remember, not only is your body digesting your OWN food, but its also digesting the babies food (thats what the umnbilical cords function is) so you can most likely expect more gas than usual!
This wont harm your baby at all, but if it is causing you discomfort (such as tummy cramps etc) then see your doctor for advise!
Congratulations and good luck with your little bundle of joy!

Farting can't hurt your baby =P
Yes, it is embarrasing but go easy on spicy foods or check and see if it's alright to take an antiflatulent to reduce gas in stomach and intestines...which yes eventually gets out...
Simethicone is found in most gas-relief products (mylanta, gas-x, etc.) and is not absorbed into the body and is not likely to cause problems. Check this site for more info. on Simethicone and how to reduce gas problems.

LMAO!! This is so funny, but I have the SAME problem. I'm now 26 weeks and it hasnt abated. It's become the house amusement lately to hear mommy let one rip.. lol.. It'll go away when the baby comes. Till then, try not move suddenly in public!

OMG, I have the same issues. I'm 34 wks w/ my 3rd child. I laugh, I fart. I sneeze, I fart. I bend over, I fart. Doesn't matter what I do, I fart. My 2 older boys crack up. My partner says I sound like a bull horn going off. I even wake him & myself up in the middle of the night...ahhh, the joys of pregnancy. It doesn't even matter what I eat (gee, it can even be a glass of water!!)
Don't worry about it unless your having pain associated with it. Your pregnant & hormonal, if people don't like it, that can bite it!
Congrats & god bless

Its probably becaues of the foods you're eating. I know you're early off, but gas is usually from the foods we eat. It wont harm you or your baby in any way. Just carry some airfreshener in ur purse lol.

OMG I laughed when I saw this question because it was SO ME! Actually, all my friends experienced this! It's horrible and it doesn't go away until you deliver. And, as you get more pregnant your ability to control them goes away!!!!!!!!!!! It will not hurt the baby. It's totally normal. If that's the worst side effect you have, consider yourself lucky!!

Your not alone. Gas and farting is as common in pregnancy as a growing belly. It won't bother your baby one little bit....your husband on the other hand....

Embarrassing? Yes. Harmful? No. Remember, now you are farting for two. You could always buy a dog so you have something to blame it on. LOL.
