People believe what they want to. If a giant meteor hit and destroyed Alabama his number would go down. If leprchans came out of rainbows and showered the US with gold his number would go up. Thats how politics works, the publics PERCEPTION not the whole truth.

You cheer, while gas prices fall, just like you cheered when Bush approval poll numbers fell.
Now you Boo rising poll numbers, just like when gas prices went up.
What info do you get from poll numbers besides approve/disapprove? Do you rely on popularity polls to form all of your opinions? How many times have you seen the poll numbers for Bush? Several. How many times were YOU a part of those polls? I'm guessing zero times. Right? So, who is being polled, how many participate in the polls and what, besides the Iraq War, is being considered by these people? If participants consider multiple issues, then the Job approval polls fail to detail them and if Iraq is the sole consideration, then the Job approval polls exclude every other aspect/issue that the President is working or has worked on. Either way, it's unclear and invalid.

I don't think Bush has anymore control that Clinton did over oil prices.... BUT,
some entity that approves of Republicans appears to be having an effect... UNLESS,
like me, a lot of people have cut down on the amount of driving they do, THEN
again, maybe the hybrid vehicles are also having an added effect... AND,
the weather hasn't really turned cold yet.....
In the end, it is just conjecture..... if anything is having an effect, I would say it is OPEC and the oil companies, along with the weather.

How long does it take people to "get it"?
Oil/gas prices always go down in the fall so that dealers and manufacturers can unload stock (a lot of guzzlin' SUVs) and entice buyers into new vehicles.
This shouldn't be a surprise, just like gas going up every summer when people use their cars more. It's the oil/auto/bush nexus!

You seem like just another liberal Bush basher. Just like the rest of them, you offer really nothing intelligent to say. You will just say anything you can to bash Bush. You have no real answers yourselves on how to protect America and fight terrorism and make the world better.
Bush does not control gas prices. His speech helped his poll numbers but how many have you all been polled? They poll certain people. Probably people like Nettie mostly.
Your group is growing smaller everyday. Because many of the high profile liberals just continue to make themselves look foolish by pubically making idiotic comments and offering no answers themselves on how to change things.

The polls don't react that quickly. His numers have gone up because he's been on television a lot lately. They'll go down again soon enough. Haven't looked lately, but its been a long time since his overall support was in the 50% range.

I think it really has to do with the people that are polled. I'd like to know who is the person who decides the polling. I've never been polled. He doesn't have anything to do with high gas prices.

It's truly astonishing! The fact that anyone in the entire country, other than his cabinet members, liking him at all is amazing. He is a liar, a murderer, and a scumbag. What is their to like about him? The fact he started a war under false pretenses? How about a record deficit? Maybe stripping the American public of their right to privacy? Hmmm

His poll numbers have been up around 40 for months. He got a bump from giving a speech. That usually happens.
