Globalisation has set in and anything best in any part of the world can be had (If mutually agreed upon). There is no harm in having a foreign coach. But I strongly feel there should be another assistant coach who can be developed to take up jobs (Coaching) in future and the momentum, strategies carries along even when the coach leaves.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangla Desh has foreign coaches and the teams are performing well.

I think because the games cricket, football, tennis, badmington etc. are all foreign games and foreign players have obtained a prime position the world over in these games it is advisable to seek coaches from these sources. In course of time we may also develop a cadre of competent coaches in the country.
Another rather delicate matter is that local coaches are likely to come under undue influence which will tarnish their judgement.
Saurav Ganguly is no doubt a good player but he had obviously passed his prime and it was only a foreign coach who could take and took this decision and stood firm by it despite all the 'anti'propoganda.

It all depends upon the potential of the coach to mould the team into a winning combination. Unfortunately there is a dearth of effective and excellengt coaches in India. That is the reason why we look for foreign coaches who are specialised and competent in the field of coaching
