You have not mentioned as to whether you are referring to one day match of test match. In one day match no side has so far scored 400 runs. If any team scores 400 tuns it is enough for them to win.

However, in test match even if a side score 400 runs in an innings it may not be sufficient to win the test match.

irrespective of watever score u make..4 any team..accuracy of defense esp the bowling department is necessary 4 a victory...
400 rns is quite a large score 2 chase,...may b ull have an pper hand 4 the 1st half of the game....but remember...aus vs sa a the wanderers earlier this year...where aus scored 426 and sa chased it...!!!!

Its depend on the pitch and which form of cricket (ODI OR TEST) and ofcourse the opponent side...If it is Australia, South Africa and Sri Lanka then there are chances that match would turn upside down

This score would normally be adequate to tilt the balance but with heavyweights on one side putting in tons and tons of runs it may not help much.As they say Cricket is a game of chance and therein lies its beauty.

the odds are in favour of winning. But they also say "cricket is by chance". It would also depend if the match is not already "fixed". Afterall it is gambling, so much money is at stake!

Is there any way one can stop the gambling in any game?
