I am wanting to take online courses. If I complete and pass all the courses I would get a Diploma in Medical office assistant. I already have my AA degree which I got a couple of years ago. So if I get a Diploma, will I be able to get a job with it. Or are doctors offices, hospitals, clinics, wanting you to have something else???
I'm really hoping you'll tell me that all I need is my AA degree and a Diploma in Medical office assistance to work in the office of one of the places I listed.
Let me know please.

I received a diploma in Medical Billing and Coding last year. Nobody seemed to care much. I think the AA degree is probably better than just a diploma. If it's truly what you want to do, work hard and prove yourself. You will have to start at the bottom, but the rewards can be pretty good if you stick with it.

Well, I only have a certificate in Medical Office Technology and I started at the bottom.

I started at a small third party claims administrator office making 8.50 per hour. After 6 months I got hired at a claims repricing company starting at 28,500 annually. After being there a year and a half, I got hired at a major medical insurance company making 32,500 annually. I stayed there almost 3 years until they laid my department off. For the next year after that I did some temping at a few jobs, very unhappy finding something that suited me. Now, I have just been hired in another state at a very well known Medical Association starting at 41,000 annually. They are even giving me an advance to move.

Stick with it. If you believe in yourself and you know your stuff, they will hire you!

Good Luck and God Bless.
