Absolutely. That's pretty much how fundamentalist religion works too.

Who's afraid? Don't commit the fallacy of assuming that just because someone supports a policy, they only do so out of fear, and not because they think it is a good idea.
And don't confuse the word "fear" with the word "danger." Fear is not necessarily real, which is what you and people like you keep implying. You say that there is nothing out there that anyone should be concerned about. Danger, however, is real. I recognize the danger of a large population of religious zealots hell-bent on restoring the caliphate and bringing down the US to do so; we are the modern-day Mecca which must be destroyed in order to establish the new Islamic empire.
Lastly, why can't I accuse YOU of being in a perpetual state of fear? Fear that the government is listening to your tawdry conversations on the phone. Watching the shows you watch, monitoring the books you read. Why are YOU in a perpetual state of fear about people with flag magnets on their cars? You are the ones bringing up all these bogeymen, these fearsome specters of government tyranny coming to haunt us and terrorize us. I have yet to hear anyone on my side say anything but the facts. Why are you afraid? Is it because it makes you easier to control by wealthy hedge fund billionaires with more money than God?
Oh, and anyone who thinks "sheeple" is clever apparently hasn't made it past middle school yet. It ranks up there with "Wake up!"

Yes.
I think Americans are in a perpetual state of fear.--- but only if they think about what's going on, the rest (the masses) are American Idol zombies.
People having firearms in the house, people always being paranoid.
Our government somehow makes people feel unsafe to be in their own homes. Yes. I think it is our country that is helping this along.
"there is nothing to fear but fear itself"
Though everyone says that we have this great freedom of expression, most of what you hear is mundane.
NO ONE feels safe really to voice their views in a public forum, or have the courage to change things. The reason why so much of the status quo is just that is because the only ones who seem to have "courage" aren't looking to change it all that much-- there is nothing radical about them.
"Radicals" who have courage are called crazy, put in jail or shot.
Right now business has successfully bought our government and nothing is in the interest of the public anymore. WE are being scammed,
They are making sure we stay in debt for life and they "own" us.
We don't speak out because we all have this underlying perpetual paranoia.

I'm not afraid. Perhaps I should be, after all there are people out there who are bent on hurting Americans, as much as we want to deny it. The government is not keeping people afraid, its the media with their constant inundation of images about bombings and threats, which they always remind you may come here. It is the governments job to keep us safe, and people need to udnerstand that there really are dangerous things out there. From robberies, and bank hold ups, to people in other countries bent on destroying us. I work for the government, (civilian) and they are just doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. Remeber the airplane plot scare that just happened a few weeks ago. The threat is real people. Its your choice if you want to live in fear because of it.

No. Where did you get the idea that Americans are in a perpetual state of fear? You must have been reading our newspapers that now create the news instead of reporting it. They go for the sensationalism instead of the facts. I'm not afraid. We have a strong President who has the courage to protect us inspite of some people who naively think we wouldn't have another 911. Thank God for President Bush. He will go down in history as a great President who had the courage to stand up against terrorism.. With him in control, we have nothing to fear.

The only thing I fear is weather the west is going to be able to get it's act together enough to A) finally see and understand what it is we're truly dealing with and B) getting our heads out of our butts in time to do what needs to be done about it, in part because of guys like you, and at this point I'm not optimistic.

yes and it was genious on their part , i think the republicans paid micheal moore to make farenheit 9/11 , after that the democrats supported his bs of fearing that the government is killing people , then the intelligent people witness these idiots on a daily basis , you being a great example , all of this was done to guarantee a republican party forever due to noone wanting to vote for the idiots who believe the bs
you see how easy it is for me to create a conspiracy with "facts"

Are people afraid? It appears that the Dems are afraid of some "fascist state". Maybe they are being controlled. The Reps are afraid of Islamo fascism (another fascist state). Hmmm. You're right they're all being controlled!!
