I bought a nice one from Avon, but no one seems to know how to use it.

I use is like a paint brush, but is seems I have to use it for a longer period of time. I am guessing this is a better way, not a faster/easier way!

It's used like any other brush. You "paint" the makeup on to your face, and gently sweep for an even and smooth finished look.

They work best with heavy opaque and the creamy foundations, and good with most liquid foundations. It also works better to pour the foundation (if liquid) on to the back of your hand, then dip the brush. DO NOT dip the brush into the foundation bottle, you will end up with too much makeup on the brush and your face.

The Good:
They won't waste as much product, you don't have as much worry about a too heavy application, or heavy makeup lines.

The Bad:
You should clean them every day, and recommended after every application so the bristles don't retain dirt and oils from your skin, and the bristles don't goop up and stick together. You'll need a cleanser specifically made for makeup brushes so you don't ruin it.

You use it just like a paint brush. put the foundation in sections on your face and then use the brush and do longer strokes in the big areas such as cheeks and forehead, then smaller strokes around eyes, nose etc. Just make sure you blend it al in.

Start out with les foundation, b/c the brush will spread it well. It will save you foundation if you use it right.

I bought a brush set recently that contained instructions on how to use each kind of brush. I haven't used the foundation brush yet, but the instructions were to dot your foundation on your face with your fingers and use the brush to blend it into your skin. I understand using this method is best if you want more coverage from your foundation.

I hope this helps...

i have a chanel (!) one that i only use with cake or cream makeup. i have never used it with liquid. i just stroke the brush lightly over the base then apply it in downward lines covering and blending the entire area. it will make your foundation last a lot longer.

Mary Kay . Com actually has this cool thing on their website called 'virtual make-over' It will match the right colors for your skin, eye, and hair colors. Even shows you how to apply that certian area correctly!

I usually use this, print it out, and go and find the colors to match it at local stores (just so I can use the brands I like best!)

Hope this helps! :)
