Copy an Access file as you would any file.

Open the folder that contains the file to copy. Right click it and select copy.

If you are putting it in a different folder, navigate to that folder.

Right click in a blank area of the folder, not on an object. Select Paste. You will receive a copy of the file selected. If you are in the same folder it will have a phrase prepended, "Copy of " You will probably want to rename it.

Since you say you think you know how to rename, here is how: Right click it, Select Rename from the menu and type in the name. Be sure you keep the correct extension. For MS Access files normally it is .mdb.

Good Luck!

Do you need to copy it or just rename it?

To create a renamed copy, open the file,
click File (on the menu bar),
then click Save As...
give the file a new name. You will then have 2 copies of the file under different names.

To simply rename the existing file...
go to the folder in which the file is stored.
Right-click on the file icon but do not open it.
In the pop-up menu, click 'Rename'
The name of the file will then be highlighted within a text box and you can type in the new name.
Hit to save the newly named file.
