Hate. Arrogant, Steinbrenner is obsessive-compulsive - must own anything not nailed down, will not let his guys have facial hair. One year Steinbreener said that if the Yanks didn't make the playoffs some heads would roll - as if it's his birthright to ALWAYS get in - baby!!! Jeter (allegedly) hits his girlfriend. A-Rod should have been charged with racketteering for trying to change the outcome of the World Series when he deliberately dis-lodged the ball out of the first-baseman's glove in the last game. I will never forgive him and he will never live that scum-like behavior down - he should be barred for life for that. Yankees think they are better than anyone else and can't stand it when a poor team like Oakland threatens. Boston is the CLASS team in the AL. Yankees won't put names on uniforms because they think the world revolves around New York so everybody should automatically know every player 'cause they're more important. Give me a break. Yankees suck and Jeter swallows!

It's not really Steinbrenner's fault he has a 200 million dollar payroll, he only has one because they let it happen. No salary cap, I'd do the same thing if I had all that money every year. Steinbrenner wants to win, can't blame him.
That being said, when the Yankees lose I can't help but to smile. And by the way ESPN, there are more than 2 teams in Major League Baseball, so please stop showing so many Yankees-Red Sox games.

Being a Sox fan I love to hate em. Like many of the people I know, if my team is or isn't playing, you have a perennial team to root against. What non-Yankee fan didn't gloat when the Florida Marlins & their sub-$20 million payroll beat them in the WS? If the Yanks or RedSox weren't playing them, who would have watched? At $200 milllion, what's not to hate?

Love them. And everyone who says they hate them are really saying that they are jealous that their team doesn't have the financial ability to hire the quality coaches, scouts and players that make up the organization. For the last 12 years the core of the Yankees team has been from their farm system (Jeter, Williams, Posada, Rivera). There were other players that helped that are now gone (Mendoza, Pettite) and new contributors (Cabrera, Cano, Proctor, Wang) and there is more to come (Hughes). Obviously they have signed high priced free agents, but they didn't make the core of the team.

I've always disliked them but I am gaining respect for the them. They have tremendous talent right now, and have to be considered the favorite to win the WS right now. Steinbrenner is a guy it is easy to dislike based on his public image. The large payroll of the Yankees is also very easy to throw in their face when they lose. This year looks like it could be another Yankee championship team whether I like it or not. I think you can respect a team even if you aren't a fan of that team.

I love the the NY Yanks! I love the Royals just as much!
I just wish the Royals would be good enough today to match up with them like they did in the days of George Brett-Reggie Jackson!

Love them, with their 200+ millions payroll people like to say their cocky and so on but they really are the classiest team in the league. As hard as it was for them then congratulated the red sox for their world series victory. Do you think the Red Sox would have done that if the Yankees home opener was against them after a World Series victory? I think not.
