The number of bacteria in a dish has tripled every month. If there were 2500 bacteria at first, how many bacteria were there 10 months later?

is the answer right?147622500...i kept on multiplying the result by3 until i get the 10 months..is there a simpler way for me to get the result?

I don't understand. 2500 times 3 to the exponent 10 is not same answer as 147622500.

2500 X 3 exp 10 = 147622500

That is 2500 times 3 to the exponent 10.

This is quicker than multiplying 2500 X 3 ten times....!

I don't think I deserve a thumbs down for this answer, just trying to help....!

UPDATE:

Perform this first 3 exponent 10. Then multiply by 2500.

3 exp 10 equals= 59049

Then 59049 X 2500 = 14762250.

You need to remember BEDMAS

the order of operations to perform when doing math

Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition then Subtraction. The 3 exponent 10 gets performed first, then multiply by 2500....!!

Depends -- were you supposed to demonstrate this word problem as an algebraic expression?

P.S. think of it this way -- If I have one bacteria and it triples, I have 3. So next month I have 3 and that triples to 9, then 9 triples to 27... and so on.

That's the same answer I got! I don't know of an easier way to do it than the way you did. Good job!

sounds like they only anticipate you to apply your calculator for it. or you will possibly do it by utilising first changing 0.266 to a fragment and doing it by utilising roots. which would be way too grimy with that variety however.
