We found a beautiful poker table, but it has leather instead of felt, which seemed unusual. Any experiences would be welcome. Thanks.

Leathe is a better surface for the poker table but the reason why casinos dont or in the past never used them was firstly because by tradition, the top is made of cloth. They leather is the more expensiveoption. Then they also used to get burned a lot by the players' cigarettes & were more expensive to replace.

Yeah leather works fine. I had one and the only difference is you gotta watch out when you deal cause the cards slide really good and you can deal them off the table easily.

Are you sure it's leather and not suede or some synthetic alternative?
