forget about the bible, it's nice but it's mostly myths . i'm actually a catholic myself so.... don't anybody start preaching me, lol.... yes, incest probably was part of the humanity developing process. chances are it was indeed. in ancient times in Egypt for example, to cite just one ancient example, the Pharoahs would take one of their blood sisters as their wife, to literally keep the 'royal blood' in the family. it's nothing new that's for sure. chances are , part of the reason the taboo became attached to it is because people over the generations generally began to see the negative side effects that can sometimes come along with it if it is done for long enough in any particular family line. alot of cultures still marry off cousins, even first cousins, to one another. chances are, there are usually no phsyical abnormalities or all that stuff we sometimes think of in regards to this, when it happens.

That's where you are wrong. It does say ..and Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters.check out chp.5,then you see the geneology to Noah.Sure in the beginning they had to marry their daughters and nieces etc,in fact all the way to Abraham a few thous. yrs later,He married his 1/2 sister Sarah. It wasn't until Moses that God said ...OK the human gene pool is polluted enough no more of this, and He set down the laws against incest up to the 2nd cousin.

Scan down the page until you get to the category entitled "Bible Contradictions and Puzzles", then go down to about the 8th topic, I think, about Cain.

I often wondered that myself, then I read this and it explained it quite a bit. It is a lot of ready, but read it all and see if it helps. It may not help you, but it did me.
