It depends what you call "arranged".
A youthful, inexperienced person prefers the "love marriage" and often regrets it.
Infatuation is short-lived and doesn't hold a relationship together in a solid, normal manner, unless real love is able to grow. Usually real love is not able to grow and this is why there is over a 50 percent divorce rate in the U.S.A.
A more mature, experienced person prefers an "arranged marriage" and usually is happy.
The proof of this is evident in the numbers of people who search through dating services for a good, compatible match because they have had bad experiences in marriage and/or in pre-marriage relationships.
Personally, I'd go for an "arranged marriage" through a dating service if I felt the person was reasonably pleasing to look at, had a balanced personality, showed a number of matching "points" to me, and had a great sense of humor.
PS: I doubt I'd go through others, especially parents and family members, to find a marital partner....although, a good "matchmaker" might work, and sometimes friends are insightful enough to arrange a meeting that turns out to be someone who is perfect.

Love all the way. If it is an arranged marriage, who knows who or what you will end up with. With Love, you get to pick and choose who you will be with. You will also know what you are getting into when you marry someone for love.

love marriage. people are supposed to get married because they've found their other half. the person they will grow old with. arranged marriage doesn't differ from a company agreement and this is not what i have in mind when i think of me in the age of 60 or more! i want to remember spending my youth with the person i really loved!

Love marriage... Id never want anyone else to make decisions for me. I have a hard enough time making my OWN decisions... BUT WOULD NEVER allow anyone to make them for me. I once broke up with a guy I'd been with for a few years because he didnt want kids and Even tho I was unsure as to whether or not I wanted kids... I wasnt going to let anyone else decide that for me.
