Why are you on it if you are not sexually active? Is it for menstrual reasons, like trying to regulate it and lighten it?

Ummm 13 and not having sex. OK then are you having a period? If so I am guessing that it is very, very heavy...
I am having a real problem thinking that any doctor or mom would suggest birth control for your age. Sometimes when you are new to becoming a real woman, like a monthly "friend" it can be uncomfortable and very heavy. Take it in stride and ask the doctor for advice, maybe taking something for the cramping is all you need, that is if the doctor recommends that. I think you are to young. This is a very good time to talk to mom and know that she has been there and can be a great ear to talk to about anything, even sex.
Good Luck to you. :D

If I had a chance to re-live the year I was 13 I would not have had sex. It wasn't any good and I ended up feeling used. If you are having sex birth control is a good idea but you should use it as a back up to condoms to prevent pregnancy. Today there are to many STDs to go without condoms. Don't have sex to make your boyfriend happy or to keep him. Most any man you are intimate with in this year of your life won't be around when you are 21. You will be a different person then and may regret sexual activity you participated in. Make choices very carefully and take things slow enjoy your teenage years.

First of all, I think you are way too young to be having sex. My daughter is 13 and I must say she has a good head on her shoulders and she knows right from wrong. Secondly, I wouldn't recommend birth control at such an early age. You are still growing and you don't want to do any kind of damage to yourself that will and may cause difficulties later on. It is not worth it.

You shouldn't need it at 13 unless you are doing things that you SHOULD NOT be doing, make wise decisions and don't put your life at risk, birth control pills do not protect you from STDs. Wise up and take control of you life and know that ANYONE who want to have sex with you at that age is not someone that you should be wasting your time thinking about.

My opinion is that it's too early for a 13 year old to be on birth control, but if you are sexually active already, then it's a great idea to prevent unwanted pregnancy or abortion.
Be careful out there, a person on birth control can still contract sexual diseases from their partner, your to young to contract any kind of disease for sexual pleasure. If you do contract a disease, some are permanent and forever. Is that the way you want to live the rest of your life?

not ideal my friend as you are under the legal age to have sex at all, the age limit although you wont agree at this time .is there for your protection, however birth control is better than unwanted babies especially at a very young age,
also birth control pills do not prevent you from getting some very nasty and dangerous infections, if you must have sex take your birth control pill but insist that your partner uses a condom at all times to prevent you from getting aids ect..
be wise, be carefull,be good
cheers

You should not need BC at age 13. that is way too young to have sex. Are you responsible enough to have a baby and support it? If not, then you should not be engaging in sexual activity.
For goodness sake - respect your body at this age. You are still a little girl.. you have the rest of your life to have sex - when you are older and more mature - and smart enough to know who is someone you should be having sex with.
13 is way too young for sex and 13 is way to young to be messing with your hormones and body with birth control.
Start off with respecting yourself and your body and NOT engaging in sex so young.

Birth control pills can help you regulate your period. I guess that it's OK if you use it for this reason. But just to be on birth control pills to possibly have sex, well, baby, you're too young.

Why would you possibly want to be "on birth control" if you aren't having sex?
