I work in a manufacturing building (we make rubber), and we have a pigeon problem. We currently use ultrasonic repellers, but they don't seem to work especially well. I'm currently trying to live-trap them and have the trap out to acclimitize them to it (it's open right now, I'll set it next week). Is there a particular type of bait that will work well? I'm using a mix of deer corn and wild bird seed, but I'm seeing other types of birds becides the pigeons.

Also, is there a company that sells spikes or netting at a low price? We have a very big warehouse, and it would cost thousands to put those up at the prices I found at bird-x.com.

I can't hunt or poison - PETA would get all over us (this is a big company). The warehouse is probably 10,000 sq. ft., with several fork-truck sized doors, and surrounded by big stacks of empty and full crates.

Paint the ceiling skylark blue...birds don't like to nest under pure blue sky...it works with swallows that like to build nests under the eaves of houses. But, pigeons are stealthy creatures. I've enclosed a few links. Good luck.

Firist find out where they get in and plug it. Even warehouse have down time thats when they probably move in & out.
Go to any hardware/ garden store and get some bird netting for trees/berries, try fake owls inside & out- move them around every other day too or they will know there fake.
Look around on the web for a down load sound of the owl that can be played during low nose times.
As for the spike rails, make your own. Tell the boss you can make them if they buy the stuff it will cost less.
Use 2 x 4 (you can cut these down to 2x2's) with 16d or larger nails through it cut to size.
Or a bunch of ya bring pellet guns and well......

1) Put thin netting over their potential roosting/nesting areas. I know it is not cheap, but how big/nasty is the bird problem.
2) Try a cat or 2
3) How about fake plastic owl or hawks?
4) Rubber snakes on roosting areas
5) Contact a local falconry society (if you've got one)
6) Slow acting poison so the birds die off your property - avoids the PETA hassle
7) Call the county extension agent
8) Call local college ornithology professor
9) Put something gooey or sticky in the roosting areas that would make them uncomfortable

.22 caliber birdshot works wonders. And it's cheap. Just don't let PETA know about it! :)
