Just before their break-out, the Spice Girls fired a drummer. I think his name was Joe, but I can't remember much else and it may have been a nickname. There were rumours he'd join Coldplay, but I can't find anything on the man. Could you help?

If you are having a misguided 'pop' at the masters known as Coldplay you had better beware bucko! I am proud to say that my command of useless information is minimal, therefore I cannot give you any facts, or be bothered to make up fiction, regarding The Spice Girls!

To everyone who says 'Spice Girls were a girl band, and had no musical instruments': all bands have music in the background. Most will keep the same musicians, as it is useful to have someone who knows you and you've worked with before. The majority of drummers are male. Therefore I think it is very likely that some bloke had a contract to play drums for the Spice Girls (both for studio recordings and for live performances: but not necessarily the same bloke).

As to any details about him, I'm afraid I don't know. It would be unlikely he 'joined' Coldplay though. Coldplay were a group of students who met at Exeter University. So before Coldplay's drummer was in Coldplay, he was a uni student, and wouldn't have had time to drum for the Spice Girls as well.

I have never heard this. The Spice Girls were all about girl power so I really don't see them ever having a make drummer. None of the girls played a musical instrument so why would they have a drummer? And their music is a completely different genre to Coldplay. They did fire their manager. Perhaps you have your wires crossed. The Spice Girls weren't a band, they were a manufactured pop group.

the Spice Girls have always been an all-girl band
if there was a male drummer, he was a studio musician and not a member of the group
