Of course they did--don't fall for the conspiracy theories. There was a show on the Discovery Channel not too long ago giving the conspiracy theorists the chance to air all their theories, then they systematically disproved them. They claim as follows:

1. Because you can't see stars in the sky, it must have been filmed on a sound studio. But the scientists took photographs in the Nevada desert at night, both with modern cameras and the ones used by the astronauts, and got the exact same results--the light in the foreground was bright enough to drown out the light from the stars.

2. The shadows on the moon shots were coming from different angles, so there must have been more than one light source. Again, scientists took photos under the same circumstances, using only one light source, and the angles of the shadows were also different.

3. The flag planted on the moon appears to wave, so there must have been a wind source. The flag was made to stand out, and the only time it moved was when it was hit by the astronauts.

4. No dust was kicked up when the Eagle landed. Actually, a little bit was kicked up, and the reason more wasn't was that they had decelerated so much before they landed that it was a soft landing.

5. The original NASA tapes of the landing are missing. There are still many live shots available from news networks around the world.

6. You can't see anything that was left on the moon from here. The distance from here to the moon is so great that you couldn't see that kind of debris without extremely powerful telescopes, and in fact one of the telescopes, I believe in the southwest, uses three light sources planted by the astronauts to triangulate the distance between the Earth and the moon at any given time. The astronomer in charge of the project encouraged anyone who says it was a conspiracy to come by and see for themselves some time.

Other points were brought out that further disprove the conspiracy theorists. Don't forget that we were in the middle of a Cold War and a space race, and the Russians were watching every move we made. If there was even a chance that we were lying about going to the moon, they would have had a field day disproving us. The astronauts themselves are good witnesses to it, too. One time someone accused Buzz Aldrin of not really going, and Buzz punched him in the face. Finally, they did some accounting, and realized it would have cost more money to create that type of conspiracy than it did to actually go to the moon.

It was a complete fraud to give the USA a boost during the cold war. No one has landed on the moon!

Seriously, they can't even launch a shuttle without something going wrong nowadays, almost 40 years later. Gimme a break.

Do people honestly think that they would land on the moon and take back off and get back to the Earth witout a glitch going off. Doh!

There is a reason the original moon landing tapes were lost, think about it for a minute folks with todays computing power. Stars can now be aligned off any map... including the pictures of the landing - they do not jive folks! Wake up!

Yes, we really did land on the moon beginning in 1969. The real pathetic part is that it was done mainly as an ego thing - to prove we had more "cojones" than the Soviets did. Well, we proved it. Whether or not the world, or the USA, are better off for it is another question.

Of course its a fake they certainly didnt have the technology then to do it and cant today its a big pr exercise to boost the flagging moral of a failing society.

Why do you believe what you believe

Experts on the human mind say that humans are convinced to believe things for four principal reasons:

1. You tend to believe most strongly that which you hear first.

2. If you change, it will most likely be to that which you hear repeated many times.

3. You next tend to believe that which you want to believe or that which fits your already conceived ideas or notions.

4. Lastly, humans are least likely to believe that which is logical and makes sense, especially if it contradicts what they hear most!

Interesting, isn’t it? Since the truth serves no one’s purpose and is seldom repeated, most people are left believing only that which serves someone’s purpose. By definition, that means they are left believing a lie. Unless you understand this and guard against it, you will be endlessly confused for most of your life.

Just because they want you to beleive so badly that its possible and that it happened doesnt make it true!

Its funny that you should say that because my father now deceased
at the time never could believe that due to his religious beliefs - the tower of babel etc.
But in any case are there still moonrocks available for testing? And are the astronauts capable of providing some proof?

There is no moon! Unmarked Government helicopters carry a big silver disk into the sky each night to confuse us (they get a short holiday each month, lucky guys). Did you further know that the Wachowski brothers tried to tip us off in the movie The Matrix? The original line was .. (you guessed it) "There is no moon."

There's no proof that they landed on the moon or not, for all we know they could have been on some desert in arizona at night time.
