He was a legend of a football player, for England and mainly West Ham although he did move to Fulham late on in his career. He famously captained England to the World cup in 1966 and led West Ham to the FA cup in 1964 and the European Cup winners cup the following season
He was born April 21 1941 and tragically died after a battle against cancer in February 2003
